Art9 was founded by avid comic collector, Philippe Labaune, as a way to introduce the original art of European comics, a beloved and striving art form, to wider audiences in America. The company takes its name from the 9 arts in Europe where comics are the “ninth art,” or “le neuvième art.” Art9 will present at Festival International de la BD d’Angoulême this January.
