Gregory Siff – Gumball Machines and Heart

Gregory Siff and I raced round the backstreets of downtown LA to try and find a bridge that we could look over to see the huge piece he had just painted on a rooftop the night before. And when we found the spot, we swerved the car to the curbside a few blocks away and ran out to snap some pics. Then, when we felt that we had taken all the images we needed, we began our adventure back to the car. We first passed an old homeless man who looked like he was in pretty dire circumstances, so Gregory without hesitation gave him some money and then that’s when we saw it, blazing in all the glory of the sun, a classic gum ball machine that gave out fake mustaches! And we were just about to walk straight past it when Gregory kneeled down, slammed a quarter into the turnstile, and then drew one of his faces on the glass. Sadly, we found out the machine was broken when Gregory turned the knob and received nothing. However, if you’re in LA on March 1st you can come out to Gregory’s show at Siren Studios, where I promise you, you won’t leave empty-handed.
