Art Opening – Michael Chearney – George Billis Gallery
I really enjoyed how psychedelic Michael Chearney’s paintings were at George Billis Gallery, so it was rad that the exhibit just so happened to be called No Such Thing As Reality. You could tell the works originated from organic actions and movements, which made them expel out a positive vibe into the room instead of a tense feeling like every single little line was ached over for eons. And as one of my friends pointed out to me, they weren’t ordinary swirls that filled the canvasses either – since there was, what I believe to be, a flower petal nestled into the paint. Also, because the work was unframed, you could catch a glimpse into how many layers of color were involved in each painting.

Daniel, really enjoyed your take on my work. You got me. And yes, there
are organic elements to the work, and that was a rose petal. Hope our paths cross. And thanks again for writing about my paintings!
Michael,
Awesome!!!
When is your next exhibit?
