Affordable Art Fair [LA]: Micro Gestalt
Bleicher Gallery presented a really neat installation at the Affordable Art Fair. It’s a collaborative piece by the artists Airom, Jim Holyoak, Alex Schaeffer, Julia Schwartz, Gay Summer Rick, and Douglas Alvarez – who I interviewed a couple months ago for Argot&Ochre! When seen from afar the piece named Micro Gestalt appears as a color spectrum, going from red to white, but when you get up close you see all the fun details of the mini paintings that make up the whole. And so after I found one painting of a zebra’s cock I started laughing at loud because of how random it was, so I kept studying every piece until I found some other gems, which I’ve included below. This installation definitely brought a really fun vibe to the whole fair.
