Affordable Art Fair [LA]: Buddha Cat Press
The Printmaking Studio booth at the Affordable Art Fair is actually run by Buddha Cat Press – a master print shop in downtown Los Angeles. They have about 12 prints featured on the walls of their exhibit, but a lot more hidden in a flat file behind the desk, so be sure to ask them about their secret stash. Works at their booth include an Augustine Kofie portrait of Afrika Bambaataa, new work by Yuri Shimojo, and my personal favorite, a rare and colorful piece by CHAZ that’s printed on sparkly paper reminicistant of the early 90′s vato stickers. The director of Buddha Cat Press, Karen Fiorito, also has some of her own awesome prints on the walls, like one of a T-Rex that has a car for a head!
