BEYOND EDEN ART FAIR – RECAP

The Beyond Eden Art Fair was an awesome three day event that took pace at the Barnsdall Art Park in Hollyweird. A wonderful selection of work was on display, including new sculptures by Robert Williams and a whole room of paintings featuring characters from Pulp Fiction and The Big Lebowski. On opening night, Anthony Ausgang was given an award to celebrate his awesomeness by the event’s organizers. In true Ausgang fashion, he wore a red hunter’s plaid jacket and gave a hilarious speech which started it off with something like “The art world is the best because it’s full of people that will give you an award for drinking free wine at galleries all over the city” followed by a howl into the microphone. He then told an awesome story about working for Eli Broad early on in his career and had the entire crowd in his pocket, which included fellow artists Ron English and Van Arno. The only difference really between Beyond Eden and the other art fairs going on was the amount of visible tattoos in the room
