Kids Wait All Night To Buy Crap At SUPREME
SUPREME’s Los Angeles store was only closed for a couple of days while it underwent a remodel, but that didn’t stop an anxious group of about 30 kids in head-to-toe swag from camping out overnight for the reopening. At about 8 o’clock in the morning they were joined by hundreds of other young skaters, hip-hop fans, and fashion thugs, which caused the line to be well over 4 blocks long. When I asked one of them why they were waiting in line, they told me it was because SUPREME was selling limited edition pieces that were only going to be available that day. It’s been almost a week now since the reopening went down and there’s still a line outside the door every day to get inside. The marketing team at SUPREME was genius for sponsoring the rap group Odd Future, since there’s no doubt the people in this line were highly influenced by ODWGKTA and Tyler The Creator’s constant repping of their product.
