Cool Painting at The Plaza Hotel [NYC]
While walking around The Plaza Hotel in New York we came across this really cool painting in the hallway. It turns out that it was painted by Hilary Knight the famous children’s book illustrator who’s actually dude, even though he has a girl’s name. The painting came to be because of Ivana Trump, who commissioned Knight to make the painting twenty years ago. The girl in the picture is Eloise from the children’s book series of the same name written by Kay Thompson that Knight illustrated. The books told the story of a young girl named Eloise who ran around The Plaza Hotel with her pet turtle Skipperdee and a pug named Weenie. Even though this painting is really rad, it simply can’t compare to the fact that Home Alone 2 was filmed in the hotel.
